He is a Medical graduate and postgraduate in anesthesia from Govt. Medical College of Aurangabad ( 1977-1984). He has pioneered the multidisciplinary approach for patients in this region. Komal Hospital has started its first-time Multispecialty services in the region of Udgir benefiting the people of the border area of Maharashtra, Karnataka. By his vision, Komal hospital provides best of the medical, surgical, and maternal healthcare services for the last > 25 years. He Has also provided health care in the public domain by working as a medical officer at Ambulga, Nilanga, Devarajan, Atnoor, and Sub District Hospital of UDGIR as an anesthetist. He has also great contributions and public awareness activities for Family pLannings, National Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Blindness control programs
Presently Dr. R N Lakhotiya also heads the Charitable Eye Institute ( Udaygiri Lions Eye Hospital, Udgir) which has a mission of blindness prevention and eradication.
